Scott A. BrooksScott represents labor unions, multiemployer Taft-Hartley Trust funds and individual employees in a variety of labor, employment and civil rights matters. He regularly appears before federal and state courts and administrative bodies and in labor arbitrations. He has practiced before the United States Supreme Court, the Michigan Supreme Court, a majority of U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal and every NLRB Region. Scott is a member of the Michigan State Bar’s Labor & Employment Section, the AFL-CIO Union Lawyers Alliance, the Local Practice and Procedure Committee of NLRB Region 7, the National Employment Lawyers Association and the International Foundation for Employee Benefit Plans. He has presented at the Michigan Bar Association’s Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the NLRB Region 7’s Bernard Gottfried Memorial Labor Law Symposium as well as at several universities including Wayne State University Law School, the University of Detroit Mercy Law School, Michigan State University and Oakland University. Prior to joining the firm in 1985, Scott served as Associate Special Counsel to the UAW’s Public Review Board. Scott attended Wayne State University Law School (JD 1983), Kalamazoo College (BA 1980) and Cass Tech High School (1976).
